Principles of Tactile UI Design

  1. Spring Dynamics over Rigid Easings: Real physical objects have mass, momentum, and elasticity. Using spring physics for modals, sheets, and drag gestures gives interfaces weight and intuition.
  2. Contextual Focus & Keyboard First: An interface should be entirely drivable with single-key shortcuts and intuitive spatial focus rings.
  3. Restraint & Purpose: Every animation must convey meaning — indicating where an element emerged from, or confirming state transition before the eye wanders.
